What are these so-called data analytics?

We all have heard this term somewhere or the other but never really cared to go deep into it. 

Before coming to humancloud and learning about this datainsights tool, I had no idea what data analytics meant, therefore understanding a data analytic tool was out of the question. 

So now let's dive into how I understand what this data analytics is.  

Datainsights

First, let's start with the data.  

In simple terms, data refers to information. It can be facts, figures, numbers, words, or any other details that are collected, stored, and studied for various purposes.  

Data can help us understand things, make decisions, or solve problems. For example, the number of books in a library, the temperature outside, or the scores of a sports game are all examples of data.

Now that we understand what data is next is analytics. 

So, what are these analytics - if we ask Google about it in simple words it'll show results like this- 

Analytics, in simple terms, refers to the process of analyzing data to gain insights or understand patterns and trends. It involves examining data to uncover meaningful information that can help in making decisions, solving problems, or improving performance in various areas such as business, science, and technology. In essence, analytics helps to make sense of data by turning it into valuable knowledge that can be used to inform actions or strategies.

But seriously who is going to understand this fact without knowing what analyzing data means or what gaining insights and understanding patterns and trends

means? 

Hence the way I understand data analytics is quite filmy in my opinion, think of analytics as a detective investigating a case. It's about collecting clues (data), analyzing or figuring out them to understand what happened (insights), and using that understanding to make informed decisions or solve problems. 

Simple and easily understandable. 

So now together Data and analytics – data analytics, what is it? 

In my understanding data analytics is searching for hidden treasures in a large pile of information. It's about finding valuable insights into data to help businesses make better decisions and succeed. 

Or let's put it more simply --  

Data analytics is about looking at data to find out what's happening, why it's happening, and what can be done about it. It's like solving a puzzle to understand how things work and how they can work better.
